Murwood PTA Programs

1. After School Enrichment

The Murwood after school enrichment program offers a variety of classes for Murwood students right on the school campus. The classes typically vary each session in order to provide a variety of choices throughout the year. Studies say that children who take after school programs over the course of their life time consistently improved test scores in school, have better then average social skills, and tend to participate in less mischievous activities. The convenience of classes along with the benefits to the students make the afterschool enrichment program a valuable asset for the Murwood Community.

2. Reflections

The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. The Reflections Program provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme, while increasing community awareness on the importance of the arts in education.

Participation in the Reflections Program is a great way for students to explore and learn about various art forms. Creating art is a valuable learning process that challenges students to use their critical thinking skills as well as their creative talents to create art that supports a specific theme.

The 2011-2012 Theme is "Diversity means..."
