E-News is Murwood's weekly bulletin for news and updates about Murwood Elementary School, its PTA, and community. Here's how it works.

WHAT:

E-News items are short news items that often are accompanied by a link to a flyer or web site with more information about that item. In most instances, the link will go to a page on the Murwood School or Murwood PTA web sites but in other cases it will take the reader to a different web site (WCEF, for example).

E-News items should be submitted as a short article. Please limit your summary to a maximum of 10 e-News lines. If you have more information you want to communicate, please attach it as a separate document (e.g., a Word or PDF flyer), or include a link to a web site where supporting content is already posted. Your short summary is the most important element of your item, as that is the primary text that will appear in the e-News and YOU are in the best position to know the critical information about your item. Please do not just submit your flyer!

Do not include any images or graphics in your e-news article. Graphics and images are ok in your linked flyer, but not in your article that will appear in e-news.

If you want your summary item to link to a flyer on a web site other than the Murwood School or PTA sites, you must ensure that the flyer stays in its original location on that web site for the duration of the relevance of the item. For example, if you are advertising an event, the flyer must stay on the web site in the originally-referenced location at least until after the event takes place.

If you're referring to specific Murwood students in your e-News item, use only first names + last initial. No student last names or photos, please!

WHO:

Submit e-News items electronically to murwoodpta@yahoo.com . Your submission then goes to the appropriate individual responsible for approving your specific article, then to the editor in charge of gathering and layout of the newsletter.

WHEN:

Murwood e-News is distributed on Tuesday afternoons. The deadline for submitting an e-News item to the editor is 5:00pm on Friday for the following week’s Tuesday e-News.
